The Elder Scrolls Online Will Allow You to be the Emperor of Cyrodiil

Here’s some good news for all those looking ahead to play ZeniMax Online’s upcoming MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. According to reports, the developer has revealed that the new game will allow players to become the emperor of Cyrodiil – the world where the game takes place.

Speaking to OXM is a recent interview, Elder Scrolls Online game director Paul Sage discussed about how players will be assuming the role of the emperor of the land, and how the progression will happen.

"Players who become Emperor will get a full skill line that they keep throughout the rest of their lives in The Elder Scrolls Online," Sage stated.

"It won't be easy to become Emperor, but we think people will be glad they worked for it." What this means is that even if the player ends up losing the title of Emperor in the game that will indeed affect the player’s respective set of skills associated with an emperor, the player will still be a force on the battlefield.

It is also to be noted that in order to become the emperor, the player will have to engage in Player vs. Player plays.

Apart from that, Sage also discussed about attaining Alliance Points in the game. He stated, as scripted via the report, that “Killing other players, healing allies and taking control of a keep grants you Alliance Points as well as experience and loot.”

“Conquering keeps also expands your territory and unlocks alliance-wide bonuses - the more keeps you control, the better the bonuses will be. When the Alliance with the most points takes charge of all the keeps around the Imperial City, the Alliance member with the most points is crowned Emperor, unlocking a further set of bonuses for his or her peers,” it adds.

ZeniMax’s The Elder Scrolls Online, which is set in the continent of Tamriel a millennium before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, is currently set to require a $15 monthly subscription fee for interested subscribers. Even though the company is looking ahead to offer fans a free month of gameplay, the price for the initial game hasn’t been revealed.
