"Torment: Tides of Numenera", the role-playing game developed by inXile Entertainment, will be released in February 2017. The single player and a multi-platform game was originally scheduled for a December 2014 debut but was moved to February 28, 2017, instead. A Day-One Edition and a Collector's Edition is now available for the avid fans.
The Day-One Edition of "Torment: Tides of Numenera" includes a game box and disc and an original soundtrack CD. Together with the package comes a 100-page digital copy of Traveler's Guide, a hard copy of a printed map of Ninth World, and an exclusive in-game armor. A limited Steel Book is also given for those who pre-ordered. The Collector's Edition package includes a Day One Edition game box and disc, a Collector's big box, an eight-inches statue of the First Castoff, a printed map of the Ninth World, an 80-pages hardcover art book and a 100-page traveler's guide. The original soundtrack CD and a Tidal Talisman keychain are also added plus an exclusive in-game armor.
"Torment: Tides of Numenera" is a crowd-funded game that started in March 2013. According to inXile's official website, there have been 95,102 pledges for the game that raised a total of $5,095,182.28 and counting. A Beta Test is available for all those who support the cause. A Steam Early Access is also available for those who didn't pledge but still want to try the game.
"Torment: Tides of Numenera" is a game set in a billion years into the future. The current timeline of the story is called "Ninth World" since wise men believed that eight great ages had existed and disappeared. A lot of artifacts and ruins are found in the Ninth World, courtesy of the previous civilizations and ages. The artifacts are called "Numenera," and some of them have "magical powers" that are a product of the science and technology of the past.
