iOS 10.2 Latest News & Update: These Are The 5 Best Features of iOS 10.2

After a long beta period, Apple has finally rolled out its iOS 10.2 to iOS users who have long been waiting to get their hands on the update. The iOS 10.2 beta version was made available to the public in November. Prior to this, only registered developers could test the update. Now, the final version of iOS 10.2 is finally out and Apple fans are going crazy over the new and long-awaited emoji included in the update. But, of course, there's more to iOS 10.2 than just emoji. Here are the five best things about iOS 10.2:

All the new emoji

iOS 10.2 adds over 100 new and beautifully redesigned emoji from the Unicode 9.0 standard, which gives them a more detailed, realistic look. These include some long-awaited and much-needed emoji such as the Rolling On The Floor Laughing, the Shrug, the Face Palm, the Person Doing Cartwheel, and -- of course -- the Selfie Arm. iOS users now also get a Nauseated Face, a Lying Face, a Clown Face, a Face With Cowboy Hat, a Drooling Face, a Call Me Hand, a Handshake, a Green Salad, and a Croissant. There are also numerous new animal emoji, sports emoji, profession emoji, and more food emoji. But the best new emoji introduced by iOS 10.2 has to be the two David Bowie-esque rockers, who are simply described as Female Singer and Male Singer.

New wallpapers

iOS 10.2 adds three new wallpapers for the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. These are Droplet Blue, Droplet Yellow, and Droplet Red.

Single Sign-On for Cable TV

With iOS 10.2, Apple has activated the much-hyped Single Sign-On feature. This allows cable TV subscribers to sign in with their credentials just once to access all live cable content across multiple TV apps. MacRumors says that Single Sign-On currently supports several cable services, including DirecTV, Sling TV, CenturyLink Prism, Metrocast, Hotwire, GTA, Service Electric, Dish, GVTC Communications, and Hawaiian Telcom.

TV app

iOS 10.2 includes new features for Apple's TV app. These include "Up Next," which allows users to see the movies and shows they are currently watching and pick up right where they left off. There's also "Watch Now" for recommendations for new movies and shows. New iTunes releases and apps can be found in the "Store" section while "Library" stores all iTunes purchases and rentals.

"Press and Hold to Speak"

iOS 10.2 adds a new way of accessing Siri or Voice Control. "Press and Hold to Speak" can be activated via Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button. It allows iOS users to activate Siri by pressing and holding the Home button.
