'Crazy Ex-Girlfiend' Latest News and Updates: Rachel Bloom Is On The Rise; Actress Proud Of Second Golden Globe Nomination

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" co-creator and star Rachel Bloom welcomed news of her second Golden Globe nomination for her CW series on Monday morning. The actress notably took home last year the Golden Globe Best Actress award in a comedy and a Critics' Choice award soon after.

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Continues To Delight Fans

Bloom told E!News that she was up early to await the announcement. She admitted that she woke up at 2 a.m. after an eventful night at the Critics' Choice Award. It's a tight race for the Best Actress award this year with fellow nominees: Issa Rae (Insecure), Tracee Ellis Ross (Blackish), Sarah Jessica Parker (Divorce), and Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin).

The series was initially developed for Showtime, but was picked up by The CW in May 2015. It has been a crazy ride for the actress ever since then. Entertainment company Netflix has also started streaming the musical comedy series.

"Crazy Ex-Girlfiend" Ending Soon?

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Bloom declared that she and co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna had had a finite story in mind that would roughly take around four seasons. The Golden Globe winner is excited to show fans the dynamic shift of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 3. She remarked that although season 3 won't be that much different from season 2, fans should expect certain trajectories in every section of the story.

The songwriter declared that the CW have been very supportive of the show. She also added that when she last viewed Metacritic, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" was considered "the most critically acclaimed show on network television." The well-loved show has covered issues with sensitivity like abortion, sexism and alcoholism.

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" finished shooting its second season already, and a third season has yet to be announced. Fans are hoping to see an encore of Bloom's acceptance speech on the upcoming Golden Globes awards night.
