"The Winds of Winter" will most likely be published next year since George R.R. Martin is now focusing on his writing. The author earlier assured his readers that writing the novel is his priority now. He plans on completing the sixth part of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series as soon as possible.

Many readers are patiently waiting for the "The Winds of Winter." Despite the delays, fans are still excited to get hold of the novel which contains more detailed stories about the characters in Westeros.

"The Winds of Winter" is expected to be a cold and dark time for the characters as hinted by the title. George R.R. Martin earlier gave an update about the plot of the upcoming novel. According to the writer, many will die and darkness will cover the world.

There will no happy events for the main characters in "The Winds of Winter." Everyone will be in dark places, as per EW.

The world renowned author also gave an early hint about the last instalment of his book series. In "A Dream of Spring" which is the seventh novel, following "The Winds of Winter," there might be no happy ending.

George R.R. Martin is not a fan of happy endings. This could mean that Dany, the Mother of Dragons might not succeed or even die in the end of "A Dream of Spring." She might not successfully take back the throne which belongs to the Targaryens.

There is also a possibility that some of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros will be eliminated. The writer hinted that he is planning to remove two out of the seven, as earlier reported by GamenGuide. Some fans are already starting to get worried for their favorite kingdoms and rulers. Which kingdoms will most likely be removed?
