‘Nintendo Switch’ Platform News & Update: Latest Patent Implies New VR; Read Details Here

The all new Nintendo Switch has not yet been launched, but rumors online suggests; it will also support VR gaming. In the latest new online, rumors suggested that an apparent filing of a patent case points to the Switch having a slot for VR. A head-mounted display (HMD) accessory will be available for players to hook in their smartphones for what looked like a VR experience.

In a 147 page drawing of the said patent, the Nintendo Switch might after all, bring in an all new VR experience alongside the launching of the Nintendo Switch in March? According to the TechCrunch, the alleged Nintendo Switch VR option has been filed under patent as early as June, but it's only now that they made it available in public.

Part of the patent said "The main unit includes a touch panel on the screen of the display such that display functions as a touch screen. The touch panel may sense position, pressure or other characteristics of touch. In the present embodiment, the touch panel is of a type (e.g. the capacitive type) that enables a multi-touch input."

Although Nintendo has not hinted on a possible Nintendo Switch VR support, reports said that they must be willing to patent these new ideas in hopes being able to create them someday. The patent is also said to include everything that has something to do with the ports of Wii U games, 3DS games on the Virtual Console and the gameplay elements that only touchscreens can give.

The Nintendo Switch is all set to launch on March 2017. The new Nintendo gaming platform will also have its own exclusive game titles, which will be revealed prior to the launching of the platform.
