UFC News: Ronda Rousey Blasts Conor Mcgregor, Floyd Mayweather

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is set to try and get back her title at UFC 207 against current champion Amanda Nunes. Rousey, who suffered a shocking second round knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 last year, is expected to come in to the title fight with renewed energy following here extended time off from the Octagon. Recently, Rousey sounded off on the lessons she learned following the loss, and took some shots against UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I was just trying to make too many people happy. But when I try and do favors and make everybody else happy, at the end of the day, they walk away happy and I’m the one who has to deal with the depression,” Ronda Rousey told ESPN The Magazine. “All the pay-per-views in the world, all the money in the world, it means f---ing nothing to me because I lost.”

Ronda Rousey also took the opportunity to blast fellow sporting superstars that openly profess their affinity for money. “If money is the motivation, then f--- you,” Rousey said. “All these money people… Money [Floyd] Mayweather, Money [Conor] McGregor. I see they’re trying to do an angle or whatever. People buy it… the worship of money in our society is so deep. But just because that’s the easiest way to keep people’s attention or entertain them doesn’t mean it’s the right way.”

But it wasn’t all bad when it came to her fellow UFC superstar, though, as Ronda Rousey expressed appreciation for Conor McGregor’s domination of the UFC. “Conor gave me the chance to rest, he took the weight off my shoulders and I’m grateful,” Rousey said. “I will never put my body at risk for views or money again. What makes me happy is winning and being the best in the world and that’s it. F--- all the promotion and energy spent on anything that’s not me winning.”

Ronda Rousey will face Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in Las Vegas on Dec. 30. It is her first fight since November of last year.
