Apple Will Charge $69 For The Replacement Of Lost & Broken Airpods

Earlier this week, Apple's airpods officially went on sale after a long delay of its release. The $159 BlueTooth headphones are already available for shipping but in limited quantities only due to the shortage of supply. This is the first attempt of Apple to release a wireless headphone for a 'no-wire' audio solution.

According to the Apple's servicing page, if you accidentally lost or damaged your Airpods, Apple will charge you for $69 each out-of-warranty service repairs. Apple's limited warranty coverage is normally one year from the date of its purchase. For battery service, the out-of-warranty charge is at $49. All repairs within the warranty coverage are free of charge.

The charging case and a lightning cable are included in the $159 wire-free earphones. As for the Airpod's charging case, Apple will also charge a replacement fee of $69 for lost and damaged case.

The Airpods features the new Apple-designed W1 wireless communication chip which has extended BlueTooth range and offers easy pairing in any Apple devices, plus the ability to connect to multiple devices. This also provides five hours of audio listening and playback. In order to use the Airpods, you should installed the updated version of iOS to your Apple devices.

The first release of Apple's Airpod is a success due to its high demand despite its delay in production. Upon its availability last Tuesday morning, the supplies were immediately consumed. According to a report, within an hour, the delivery timeframe moved to December 29, and others slipped to another four weeks of waiting.

Meanwhile, The W1 is also in two of Apple's Beats products - the Powerbeats 3 and the Solo3 which will be available in Fall 2017. Price will range from $150 to $300.
