Deception IV Blood Ties: Brutal Japanese Trailer, Release Date [VIDEO]

Fans of the Deception series seem like they have a real treat on the way in the form of Deception IV: Blood Ties. We've already seen a whole bunch of great gameplay footage from the game but with the release of this brutal Japanese trailer we've finally got an idea of just how much variety there is in the game.

There are very few games that let you play as the bad game but that was always a joy of Deception. Rather than playing a hero infiltrating some villain's lair, you're the villain, and you are preparing for your uinvited guests by setting up all manner of traps. As shown in the numerous videos of gameplay footage that Tecmo has recently released, the traps run the gamut from horrifying to silly, generally veering on the lighter side of things overall. But the real fun comes wth the combos. Killing heroes with traps is easy, after all, it takes real skill to combo one trap after another, setting up some hapless victim to pingpong from one awful fate to another. Rube Goldberg never had so much fun.

Late last week Tecmo Koei dropped the official release date for Deception IV: Blood Ties in North America- March 25th, 2014. The game is coming to both PS3 and Vita and will support features that take advantage of each system's strengths. The Vita will allow you to utilize the touch screen to set and activate traps (yes!) and the PS3 version will let you upload combos and challenge other people's combos online. The best thing is that the game will support both Cross Play and Cross Save, which means you can keep your same save going while on the go. No word on Cross-Buy, however, which would mean you'd need to buy both versions individually to take advantage of those features.

Regardless this is a great time to be a Vita owner, especially one with a bit of a dark streak to them. Get those traps ready...
