'Minecraft' DLC Latest News & Update: New Add-On Pack Includes 'Fallout' Characters & Locations, 44 New Skins!

The new "Minecraft" DLC added a number of characters and locations from the "Fallout" series. Fans of both games will be delighted to see the grand fusion that showcases several familiar landmarks and new challenges.

New 'Minecraft' DLC Presents Familiar Elements from "Fallout"

Mojang announced that the new "Minecraft" DLC will feature various new locations from the popular RPG series by Bethesda Softworks. There will be many familiar places from "Fallout" coming to "Minecraft," such as the Tenpenny Tower, Diamond City and Capitol Building.

There will also be 44 new skins based on the characters from the survival game, such as Tinker Tom, Paladin Cross, Jangles The Monkey, Nick Valentine, Fawkes, Dogmeat and Vault Boy, among others. There will be new environments and mutated creatures in the game like two-headed cows, ghouls, scary mutants and horrific spiders.

GameSpot stated that according to Mojang, the "Minecraft" DLC also offers a retro-futuristic touch to the user interface, based on the highly functional Pip-Boy 3000. Some of the challenges will most likely involve elements from the post-apocalyptic title, adding suspense to the whole experience.

The mashup project also has a soundtrack that will play familiar music from the "Fallout" series. The "Minecraft" DLC will only be available on consoles, so PC owners and Pocket Edition users will not experience the "Fallout" content.

Previous 'Minecraft' Mashups

It is not the first time for "Minecraft" to feature a pack based on another series. Previously, the sandbox game featured content based on titles like "Mass Effect," "The Simpsons" and "Halo."

Earlier in 2016, Mojang worked with Nintendo to feature the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack, bringing character skins, music and sound effects to the Wii version of "Minecraft." The pack was available for free. Considering the company's history of fusing the builder game with other popular titles, more are expected to arrive in 2017, either for free or at a fee.

The new "Minecraft" DLC will be available for $5.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita and Wii U. The official release date and additional details are expected to be announced soon.
