A new smartphone from Xiaomi is said to be coming out really soon. Fans have waited for its release earlier this month but it did not push through.

Recent reports indicate that the Xiaomi Mi 5c has been confirmed as part of the Chinese company's upcoming releases. The public expected it to be released last December 6 but that did not happen.

Features and specs

Some of the expected features of the device include a 1080 display, a metal makeup, 3GB RAM, an octa-core processor and 32GB of internal storage. Xiaomi has reportedly decided to do away with a plastic body for its mid-range phones and just introduce this for their entry-level devices.

As for its camera, the XIaomi Mi 5c is thought to have a 16MP main shooter with a dual-tone LED flash. The front-facing camera is said to be at 8MP which is perfect for video calls and selfies.

It is also believed to have the usual connectivity features like the a Bluetooth, 4G LTE and will also retain the audio jack and an FM radio. Xiaomi MI 5c's battery details, however, have not yet been revealed in recent reports.

No more microSD slot?

Rumored to be released this coming February, the Xiaomi Mi 5c is anticipated to have great specs and features but could do away with the microSD slot disabling users to expand their phone memory. Surely, users would want to know if Xiaomi will really push through with this plan and what the company will offer in exchange for taking away this feature.

But overalll the Xiaomi Mi 5c is expected to be a powerful device as it is also thought to come with a fingerprint sensor for better phone security. The phone could start selling at $144 when it comes out in stores. What do you expect from the next Xiaomi phone?
