‘Titanfall 2’ News & Update: Best Video Games Of 2016; Titanfall 2 Named As The Best Shooter Game of the Year
It's been a heck of a year for video games, with the release of two upgraded versions of existing game consoles; the "Xbox One S and PlayStation 4 Pro," three high-end virtual reality headsets including Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR, new lines of high-powered, low-priced PC graphics cards and an absolute bundle of incredible titles.
"Titanfall 2" was named as the "Best Shooter Game of the Year" by Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The most hotly contested category of the year was Titanfall 2's blend of an amazing single-player campaign with lopsided yet perfectly balanced multiplayer mayhem that will remember most. It is undeniably highest played rated FPS this holiday season with Titanfall 2: Respawn. The encore to the original Titanfall has received over 80 scores of 90+ and features no season pass.
Meanwhile, "Titanfall 2 2016" was built on everything the first game got right, balancing its multiplayer to near-perfection while adding a compelling single-player campaign that serves as both an excellent introduction to the game's mechanics and a charming, self-contained narrative.
The campaign never tries to outdo the gameplay with grandiose set pieces or blockbuster bombast. From start to finish the best moments come from gameplay like wall-running at a group of enemies and blowing them away with a few, unnervingly satisfying blasts of your shotgun. Respawns have also expanded the game's multiplayer, adding layers of depth that ensure its appeal will last for longer than a few months. Simply put, it's a bigger and better beast than before, and a breath of fresh air for the genre as a whole.
Sales figures for the month of November show that predictions of "Call of Duty" were premature as "Infinite Warfare" claims top spot on the charts. "Battlefield 1" is in second place, and "Titanfall 2" is in fifth.
