‘Super Mario Run’ Delayed Android Release Makes Scammers Active; Release Expected Sometime in 2017

Scammers are taking advantage of peoples' disappointment with Nintendo releasing "Super Mario Run" only on iOS devices. The iOS exclusive Mario mobile game has become quite a rage and everybody believes Nintendo will soon make it available in Android in 2017. However, players are coming across various APKs of the Mario game. It's malware!

As millions of people are not being able to play the real "Super Mario Run" on their Android devices, scammers are releasing APKs disguised as the real game. Hence, users need to be aware of this and stay away from such files. There is a plethora of apps that simply steal user data and hijack phones. Interestingly, this is the reason why Nintendo chose to release the game on iOS, reports PCWorld.

In a earlier interview, popular Nintendo game creator Shigeru Miyamoto said that iOS has a very secure delivery mechanism and this security element is one of the main reasons to go with iOS and not Android. "Super Mario Run" has launched in 150 countries and every country has different network environments and security concerns. iOS proved to be the ideal platform for a lunch because of its strict security policies.

Hence, for the time being, "Super Mario Run" will only be available on iOS devices. Users can for now use their friends' iPhones and iPads to play the game. Some believe Nintendo may release the Android version before the Switch console arrives.

Game Rant has reported that "Super Mario Run" has set a new record for day one downloads on the App Store. It was downloaded almost three million times. It is the biggest launch in the history of App Store. It will be interesting to see what records the game breaks when it is released on Android.
