Xbox One VS PS4: More Developers Working on PS4 Titles Than Any Other Console, Xbox One Owners Report Losing Video After Update

Xbox One Users Losing Video After Installing Update, PlayStation 4's Future Seems Secure

It seems like Sony's latest console is ahead of the competition in more than just sales. In addition to the PlayStation 4 clearing more than 5 million in total sales, more developers are currently working on products for the console than any other. The news comes from a poll conducted by Games Industry, which asked 2500 attendees at last year's GDC about their current works in progress. According to the results, about 20 percent of those polled were working on PS4 products.

The remainder broke down to the following:

* 17% Xbox One
* 14% PlayStation 3
* 12 % Xbox 360
* 4% Wii U

In the mean tiem, Xbox One gamers are reporting problems after downloading a recent system update. Owners took to Reddit, complaining that once the update was installed, they would lose the video signal when returning to the console's home screen. It's not a total failure, as audio can still be heard, but it's kind of difficult to play games if you can't see them.

Users have reported the issue while playing a wide range of games, including Titanfall, Peggle 2, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Forza Motorsport 5, NBA 2K, and Battlefield 4.

"JUST happened to me," wrote the ever trustworthy maritime companion Scuba Steve25. "Video signal was completely black, but I could hear all the sounds to the respected actions I was performing, i.e. (moving around the home screen, the noise when the voice commands registers your command, and the actual sounds of the Titanfall game i was currently playing in.)"

The glitch can be adjusted by doing a hard reset, but that'll obviously get old real fast. Microsoft is aware of the issue, reports Videogamer, a representative telling the outlet they, "are working on a resolution," but informed fans to try the hard reset if they encounter the problem. "This does not appear to be widespread, but can be addressed by the player by holding the Xbox One power button on the console for 10 seconds to restart."
