Last September, Niantic promised on stage about having a companion app for the Apple Watch. But it seems like after three months, Pokemon Go is still out of sight. Some already gave their hopes up but just when everyone's ready to leave, the Pokemon Go developer has slashed the rumor about the cancellation of Pokemon Go For Apple Watch. Instead, a brand new hope was given as the company confirmed about the progress being made.
Supposed-To-Be Release Date and Features
Pokemon Go has become a phenomenon this year which involves people chasing invisible Pokeballs in parks, cinemas, schools, and almost everywhere.
According to MacWorld, Niantic hasn't provided any specific date about Pokemon Go's release however, it will come out before the year 2016 ends. It's expected to be compatible with all the Apple Watch models, and even the owners of original and Series 1 watches can play it despite not havo=ing any GPS features.
Killing the Rumors With Kindness
Meanwhile, an alleged email was published on Reddit, telling that it's from Niantic. The email states that the Apple Watch companion for Pokemon was canceled because of the low demand. Fortunately, the rumor was killed immediately as a spokesperson from Niantic gave a statement to Recode, telling otherwise and that the email was in fact, a bogus. The story was just creatively made and that no part of it was true. The confirmation was strengthened by the official Pokemon Go Twitter account when it tweeted "coming soon."
Basic Function Instead of a Full Version
Just to give a heads up, the Apple Watch companion app for Pokemon Go won't cater a full version instead, it will perform its basic function that involves checking of particular stats while their iOS phones are out of hand. So primarily, it will allow collection of items from PokeStops, determine the distance they need to hatch an egg and check how near they are to the next level.
