Android 7.0 Nougat-based MIUI 9 software update will soon come to the Xiaomi smartphone models Mi Note, Mi 4c and Mi 4s. As the Android 7.0 Nougat beta testing has already begun, the MIUI operations manager announced that some of the company's smartphones will be one of the first to get the software update.
The Android 7.0 Nougat update is also expected to come to other Xiaomi smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi 3, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, Xiaomi Redmi 3S, and Xiaomi Redmi 3A. Also, Xiaomi Redmi Pro, Xiaomi Mi MIX, Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, and Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will get it too.
Android 7.0 Nougat-based MIUI 9 update for the Xiaomi smartphones, however, has no confirmed date of release yet. Nevertheless, there are speculations that the release will likely happen before 2016 ends, given that the Android 7.0 Nougat update is expected to make the handsets become more appealing to the customers.
In fact, reports suggest that the Android 7.0 Nougat-based MIUI 9 is Xiaomi's own Android version, which is believed to include great details from the company compared to the regular Nougat features of Android. As such, Xiaomi smartphones would likely stop being just among the few notable brands that were lagging behind a number of its own rivals, according to report.
Meanwhile, the Android 7.0 Nougat update also continues with software for Sony smartphone such as Sony Xperia X (F5121), Sony Xperia X Dual (F5122), and Sony Xperia X Compact (F5321). According to reports, the said Sony devices have started receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat since Friday. In addition, the handsets will also update to system version 34.2.A.0.266 to take from Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to Android 7.0 Nougat.
