Pokemon GO Rumors and Updates: According to 9to5mac, Niantic ceased its development of an Apple Watch App for Pokemon GO. This left the Pokemon GO fans on panic as many are already looking forward to playing the app on their Apple Watches.
However, Niantic made an attempt to stop the spread of wildfire by tweeting "Pokemon Go for Apple Watch coming soon." Still, despite this tweet, the company didn't promise any exact date as to when this will happen. Rumours believe that it could be that Niantic is actually attempting to make their own version of Smart Wearable just to cater the Pokemon GO app.
Niantic has an array of games, and having the people hooked up in all of them through the iOS platform is a smart move - especially with the sudden rise of Pokemon GO ever since it was released. Though lately, the app suffered a struggle as the hype is slowly taking a downward phase. Niantic offered daily rewards and occasional events to keep the players on the game.
Now, as Niantic has been working on keeping their players on the game, it could be possible that the cancellation of developing an Apple Watch app for Pokemon GO could be that they intend to market their own line of wearables just to cater the GPS-based mobile game. This means more profit for them of course.
This may work in partnership with Nex + Ingress Band, which is reported to have a five touch sensitive display, having up to a 4 day battery life, and will also have health and fitness tracking features. All the said features can cater for the Pokemon GO app. So it could be that Niantic may be working the app for an Ingress Band instead for an Apple Watch.
Still, we can take the benefit of the doubt that everything said so far was just rumours after all. To confirm that, we'll just have to keep waiting if Niantic can deliver their promise of having Pokemon GO on Apple Watches.
