‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ Development News & Update: Bethesda Reportedly Starting Development Following ‘Fallout 4’ Completion; Akavir Could Be Next Location

Now that "Fallout 4" has been completed, there is the assumption that Bethesda will start on a new project. About six months ago, Bethesda's chief game creator Todd Howard confirmed that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is coming and is one of the future projects of the company.

By now, it's no surprise that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is coming but Howard has already made it clear that it's not happening anytime soon. Fans may even need to wait that long before a new "The Elder Scrolls" game will be released. However, fans have reason to believe that there's a team already hard at work on "TES 6." It was even rumored that development for "TES 6" already started when "Fallout 4" already came out, which was in November 2015.

Now that "Fallout 4" DLCs have all been released, it is assumed that Bethesda has focused its manpower on the development of "The Elder Scrolls 6." But despite the endless release date speculations about the game, Bethesda stands firm when saying it hasn't started touching on the game and that there won't be any substantial updates in the near future. As Howard had put it, the game is still "a very long way off."

Nevertheless, die-hard "The Elder Scrolls 6" fans speculate that the new game will feature different game locations. There are several regions within the game that have yet to be explored. One of the places speculated to be the focus of the game is Akavir, the continent found east of Tamriel.

According to fans, Akavir remains to be an enigmatic continent in the world of "The Elder Scrolls." "The Elder Scrolls 6" is rumored to bring players into this entirely new location that has new races since the native Akavir race has been wiped out.

On the other hand, there are those who argue that Akavir shouldn't be the main location of "The Elder Scrolls 6" because the continent should remain as it is - mysterious. It was suggested that maybe Bethesda should consider introducing a mission that would take players to Akavir instead of having it as the main game location. But then again, these are all speculations and fans should take them with a pinch of salt and wait for Bethesda's official announcement.
