'Prey' Release Date, News & Update: Gameplay Details Reveal Alien Powers & Sci-Fi Weapons; Game Director Points Out Game Not Like 'Dishonored'

There are multiple gameplay videos released online about "Prey" as how the game works and what abilities players can use. There are talks that "Prey" has some similarities from "Dishonored", but game director says otherwise.

Game Director Talks About 'Prey' Similar To 'Dishonored' Gameplay

In a interview with game director Raphael Colantonio and game designer Ricardo Bare, the two main bodies of "Prey" being developed has something to say about the game being related to Bethesda's "Dishonored." Colantonio and Bare stated that "Prey" has one thing that sets apart from the said game is that everything is connected in "Prey."

Colantonio stated that "Prey" is one big mission where players are tasked to eliminate all alien test subjects that roam around the spaceship while at the same time, the player unlocks supernatural powers along the way. "Prey" requires players to solved blocked paths, explore or re-explore certain areas in the ship and crisscross paths.

Colantonio added that everything the player does in "Prey" will be connected to how the game will end. Thus, killing a certain alien or not making a side quest in "Prey" will have a huge effect on how the game will end, so decisions matter.

Weapons & Powers Featured In 'Prey'

iDigital Times reports that the "Prey" protagonist will develop special powers along the way as he kills aliens on the spaceship. Take note that the more players honed their powers in "Prey", the more alien lifeforms will come to kill them.

Players can unlock their powers by analyzing alien DNA and using a device called Neumorod to hack into "Prey" protagonist's brain and make changes to it. When using powers in "Prey", time will slow down that allows players to accurately target a certain area to cast a skill.

Powers comes in different varieties and uses such as shapeshifting, lifting objects telepathically, and control other humans. Players can also use weapons in "Prey" to help players kill or go through an obstacle.
