Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks Suggest 2017 Flagship Will Include Distinct Curves, Thinner Display Size

Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to come in two sizes - a 6.2-inch and a 5.7-inch screen, and both with also feature a distinctive curved edge. Incidentally, reports suggest, that there is no current demand for a dual-edge screens, due to the possible inconvenience that it brings as the owners could mistake the sides of the handsets.

According to reports, Samsung Galaxy S8 is being given the dual-edge screen feature to distinguish its design from an efficiency perspective.  That said, the tech company must roll out foldable devices that can be used as tablets and smartphones to boost its efficiency.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is also reported to come with a reduced display assembly. Based on the latest leaks, the company is likely to import one feature from the Galaxy Note 7: the Y-OCTA screen construction.

Instead of placing a layer of sensors between the protective glass cover and the display panel, the sensors are reportedly embedded in the display panel. With that, Samsung is expected to cut the screen unit cost, keep the manufacturing process more in-house and allow the screen to become physically thinner, Forbes reported.
