"The King of Fighters XIV" was recently updated with patch version 1.10 last Tuesday. The latest software update apparently tweaked the game's visual quality. It has enhanced the fighting game's lighting and shading, which fans have previously criticized as old-gen compared to the likes of "Street Fighter V" and "Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator." However, the latest patch has also brought a new problem to the game's online mode.
SNK's latest update is been well-received by fans so far, but there are reports that players encounter false disconnect ratings during online play. The company has given an official statement regarding the new bug, EventHubs reports. The problem is reportedly caused when users change their display settings on the "My Profile" screen.
The glitch will supposedly count the event as a premature match disconnection and affects the user's win percentage and earn disconnect penalties. SNK urges "The King of Fighters XIV" players to temporarily refrain from accessing the "My Profile" to make changes. They claim to be currently investigating the cause of the issue and will be making an announcement when a fix is available.
Shoryuken says that the software patch is 3.7GB in size and improves the game's graphics. It also updates some of the character's in-game models, moves and effects. Additionally, the patch version 1.10 comes with two new colors for every character. However, it will not feature any balance changes for the overall gameplay. A recently discovered glitch surprisingly granted one of the game's characters an infinite combo. Fans are hoping the fix for disconnect bug will also remove the combo glitch.
The fighting game community has previously praised SNK for its diligence to address several problems with "The King of Fighters XV." Additionally, players who have not yet purchased the game can check out the latest demo with the updated graphics from the Playstation Store.
