Titanfall Xbox 360 Port: Microsoft Says 360 Version Will be "a great experience" Despite Different Developer

Microsoft Says Xbox 360 Version of Titanfall will be "a great experience"

Titanfall on the Xbox 360 will be "a great experience" according to Xbox Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Yusuf Mehdi. In an interview with Polygon, Mehdi spoke to the site about Titanfall's last generation console version due out in two weeks.

Despite not being featured at events, such as Titanfall's SXSW event where Polygon spoke to Mehdi, the Xbox marketing and strategy officer issued some reassuring words about the game, stating that it's coming along and that it needs to be of quality because of the Xbox 360's widespread adoption.

Why Titanfall PC is a 48GB Install, and What Respawn Should Have Done Differently

"I think we struck the right balance - it was Respawn, really, and the developer who struck the balance - which is, it will play great on Xbox 360," Mehdi told Polygon. "Believe me, we are thrilled about it. Xbox 360 is in, obviously, all the markets including the top 13 with Xbox One; we're in 48-plus markets for [Xbox 360]. For many markets, that will be the game. So, we've worked together to have that be a first-class experience."

After discussing the port's quality importance, Mehdi went on to differentiate the last and current console versions, "At the same time, on Xbox One you can get some of those extra features that set it apart, and there will be people who want to do that, and there will be enough encouragement to go - but it will be a great experience on Xbox 360."

Titanfall Xbox One Resolution: Titanfall on Xbox One Resolution is 792p, "likely" to Increase Post-Release

Typically, when a game is not shown or talked about, that leads many to believe that it's being hidden for a reason. But Titanfall might be a different story if you consider Microsoft's position: The Xbox One is what Microsoft ultimately wants people to support. By showing consumers the Xbox One version of Titanfall, incentive to drop $500 on the Xbox One console might be high. Also, Bluepoint Games, the team behind a bunch of HD Collections and port jobs are behind Titanfall for the 360. These guys are porting wizards, so I imagine the port will be functional at the least.

Titanfall is available now on PC and Xbox One. The Xbox 360 version is due out on March 25.
