'Heroes Of The Storm' Welcomes Lucio From 'Overwatch'

Blizzard Entertainment's "Heroes of the Storm" has been constantly adding more characters from its popular games. The free-to-play MOBA was launched in 2015 and features heroes and villains from "StarCraft," "WarCraft," "Diablo" and most recently "Overwatch." The game already features two characters from the team-based FPS with Tracer and Zarya, but a recent announcement confirms the beat-dropping Lucio is on his way to the MOBA.

The character is reportedly joining the roster later this week, according to Game Rant. Players will be able to access him during the MOBA's Public Test Realm (PTR), which is scheduled to begin on Feb. 6, 2017. He will reportedly function as a support character just like his role in the popular shooter. He is expected to officially join the roster after the developers analyze feedback from the PTR and have made the necessary adjustments.

Lucio's "Heroes of the Storm" version apparently showcases some familiar attacks and specials from his "Overwatch" abilities. He can support allies by switching from healing or speed boost, which appears to benefit teammates close by. His ultimate "Sound Barrier" is also carried over and grants a shield boost to allies within its range. The hero is also apparently given a new skill called "Reverse Amp." It reportedly slows down enemies and chips away their health, reports VG24/7.

According to some speculations, the new ability granted to the support character might be a great addition to his abilities in the shooter. However, adding the new skill might present some character balance problems. On the other hand, other opinions claim that adding the extra ability might also make him viable for most players. While it might seem overpowered, players should note that Symmetra also carries two ultimate skills.

Overall, most gamers doubt that Lucio's new ultimate ability in "Heroes of the Storm" will transition to "Overwatch." On the other hand, it appears the shooter's popularity might also pave the way for more characters from its roster to show up in the MOBA. Both games are available for the PC.
