'Gears Of War 4’ Valentine’s Day Event Includes New Maps & Valentines Inspired Rewards

Microsoft has just announced Valentine’s day event for “Gears of War 4” and it includes new maps, characters, Valentine’s inspired bounties and much more. The update will launch five days earlier than Valentine's day, February 10, for everyone to download.

Gamerant reports the event will include new characters, 2 maps, Gear Pack rewards, Valentine’s inspired bounties, and a new mode, Torque Bow Tag, that is said to have a Cupid style influence. The first map is called Impact Dark and based in one of the launch maps in the game. The only difference is that it will be set in the nighttime with visible fog. Moreover, the map also features a weapon swap ability to make the game more challenging.

The next map is titled War Machine which is also first seen in “Gears of War” but moved the train station to the new COG village according to Engadget. Season pass holders will be able to access the map now via the Developer Playlist and get 20% bonus credits and Double XP.

“Gears of War 4” is published by Microsoft Studios for Xbox One and is the fourth installment of the game series. It is, however, the first installment not developed by Epic Games but by The Coalition. This game is similar to its previous franchise but with new content like the explosive drill Drop shot weapon and sawblades called Buzzkill. It also features 4 kinds of weather that change the effect of each weapon and fighting style. It starts with a heavy breeze then change to a category 3 windstorm randomly.

The game has been favorably reviewed by different critics and is said to be the second best-selling game in the UK in its release week. In 2016, it was nominated for the best action game in the Game Awards while in 2017 it is nominated for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Real-Time Project at the 15th Annual Visual Effects Society Awards.
