‘Counter Strike’: CS Player Banned For Allegedly Harassing A Minor

A "Counter Strike" player was hit with an unprecedented ban by the competitive "Counter Strike" community and league organizer E-Sports Entertainment Association, a ban that lasts for 1000 years. The banning happened when an alleged minor was sexually harassed by a CS player, based on the evidence that was compiled and posted by his fellow player.

The player who was banned from E-Sports Entertainment Association League until June 5, 3016 was the 25-year-old Counter-Strike player Reece "Bloominator" Bloom. Photos of conversations he had with an alleged 15-year-old girl on Reddit that was posted by the community members, serves as an evidence against him. Mashable reported that ESEA members kept and reposted the incriminating screenshots of the conversation on their ESEA forum and in a later Reddit thread after it has been deleted.

A thumbnail of a sexual video that Bloom sent to the minor, a sexual request from him, and a message saying that he is a pedophile are pieces of evidence included in the screenshots. Some of the evidence was NSFW (Not safe/suitable for work) due to explicit text and images, therefore it was collected in an Imgur album. A thread was posted on the ESEA forums entitled "Bloominator is a pedo?" after the original Reddit thread was deleted. Bloom himself seems no remorse for his actions regarding the accusations, as he commented in the thread many times.

According to Kotaku, in the recent "Counter Strike" history, Bloom's ban makes him the highest profile player in North America. Players who behave like Bloom outside of the game will be effectively abandoned from the community. A user once said in the post that highlights the nature of the "Counter Strike" community, the user hopes that the post will not get nuked so that the prosecutor can read it back to Bloom at trial.

On Twitter, Bloom lately posted an apology. A copy of apology from Bloom was cached by Google after they deleted his account. Bloom said that he is really sorry for what he have done and asked for forgiveness of his misbehavior. He added that he will accept all the blame, just don't implicate any of his friends or organizations he is associated with.
