‘Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’ – Link May Not Be Able To ARide Epona

In less than a month the Nintendo “Switch” will be released and with it comes a long anticipated launch title “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”. There have been a lot of rumors and news surrounding the game, but now finally it is known if Epona, Link’s famous pet horse will make an appearance in the game.

Game Rant has a sad announcement for fans of “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, especially those who have been in love with Epona since the days of “Ocarina of Time”. Nintendo has announced that to traverse the large terrain offered in their new “Legend of Zelda” game, Link will have to tame and ride wild horses. This news could come as a shock to those who had expected Epona to be together with the game’s famous hero.
Is everything lost and have the two characters been separated for, at least, one game title?

GameSpot answers the question, with a statement shared by Nintendo officials. According to the statement, Link will have to ride wild horses in “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, but in order to not ruin the experience for players they cannot make any further announcements then the fact that Epona will appear in the game. It is not yet sure how exactly this will happen and will she be a rideable mount within the game. It is possible that she will make a short appearance, or will be used in a certain segment of the game, but will be impossible to ride. Fans’ imaginations run amok and there are hundreds of different theories behind it.

No matter if Epona appears in the title or not, there will be enough to keep gamers occupied for tens of hours. Promotional materials on the game’s official page show that the game offers a fully explorable sandbox world, where mountains and towers could be easily climbed. Other features include more than 100 shrines of trials scattered all over the world, strategic boss fights and amiibo figures which bring in-game goodies to their owners. “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” will be released on March 3, 2017, for Nintendo “Switch” and WiiU.
