Real Doctor Plays Surgeon Simulator, Hilarity Ensues

Blame game politicians like to point the finger at violent video games, claiming that skills learned translate over to real world activites. So according to that theory, the crackshot Call of Duty player is a gun license away from being the next Chris Kyle.

But what about the reverse? Does Thierry Henry kick ass at FIFA 14? Did Buzz Aldrin have the top score in Lunar Lander?

Surgeon Simulator requires some serious skill. Not nearly close enough to the kind of dexterity and coordination it takes to be an actual surgeon, but still some impressive talent. But what happens when you take someone with legitimate medical knowledge and skill, and have them try their hand at grasping scalpels and bone saws with awkward combination of keystrokes and mouse clicks?

Watch below to find out.

Turns out actual surgeons are just as bad at Surgeon Simulator as the rest of us. It's akin to watching a palsy victim play a game of Jenga.

Good news is that Surgeon Simulator arrived on iPad today, and the touch screen tap and swipe controls make things a smidge easier then the less than graceful keyboard mouse click combos.
