Mirror of Fate PC: Konami Announces Castlevania Mirror of Fate HD PC Release

Konami Announces PC Release for Castlevania Mirror of Fate HD

In an announcement that I expected to come eventually, Konami has released a statement today confirming that the second part of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow trilogy is coming to PC. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate made the jump from the 3DS to consoles and now to PC. The whole trilogy has made its way to Steam, further expanding Konami's catalog on the platform. This is great news on its own!

Mirror of Fate takes the series back to the Metroidvania style of play, making it a sidescrolling adventure. Featuring 2.5D graphics, Mirror of Fate takes place 25 years after the event of the first Lords of Shadow game. Gabriel Belmont, now Dracula, has become a target for the Brotherhood of Light and its up to his descendants to stop him from from spreading his evil influence across the world.

The story spans decades and features several playable characters, like noteworthy Belmonts Simon and Trevor. The game also works as something of a story transition between the first and second Lords of Shadow games. For example, you'll learn how the "fate" of Gabriel's son Trevor came to be.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD on PC actually looks pretty good (graphically). My time with the Xbox 360 version didn't leave a good impression; the visuals were hardly HD and it was very muddy. I'm also not a fan of the gameplay.

Along with decent visuals, the port to PC will also include leaderboards and a Boss Rush Mode. There is no price point announced, but expect Mirror of Fate HD on Steam later this month.
