'Horizon: Zero Dawn': Guerrilla Games Lists Day One Patch Notes

Gamers excitedly waiting for "Horizon: Zero Dawn" only have a few days left before its official release next week. A recent report has indicated that the Guerrilla Games title will receive a day one patch that offers an overall improvement to the overall experience. Sources have revealed that the update file actually contains two versions. These upgrades apparently include a Performance mode, which reportedly enhances frame rate of both 4K and 1080p resolution settings.

According to PSX-Sense, the first Patch is labeled 1.01 and with it an option to change the graphics mode or activate HDR rendering for compatible TVs. It also fixes some progression problems and multiple crashes. The last benefit reportedly boasts about some performance improvements. Patch number 1.02 almost seems the same as the former, but it boasts updated visual settings and a bug fix to prevent players from getting stuck.

It seems like Guerrilla Games have worked on "Horizon: Zero Dawn" with utmost care, which is why its day one patch mainly focuses on further improving the visuals. Based on the recent reviews and trailers, it appears PS4 Pro users will enjoy even better framerates and graphics, according to a comparison video from IGN. Gameplay on the other hand seems great, with many critics expressing positive remarks about the game's open-world mechanic and crafting system.

Although most of the reports about the game have applauded its amazing visuals, gameplay and RPG elements, gamers are expected to also enjoy its lore and backstory. The game reportedly showcases a blend of nature and technology with great combat elements. A recent report from Game Rant revealed that the developer is certainly confident that the game will be successful after it launches. The development producer has apparently started to entertain the idea for a sequel.

The "Horizon: Zero Dawn" day one patch is reportedly small compared to other major titles and their respective first day updates. According to Guerrilla Games, it is apparently just 227.3MB in size but aims to refine a lot of the game's visual performance. The game comes out on February 28, 2017, and is a Sony Playstation 4 exclusive.
