Reggie Fils-Aime Responds To Some Nintendo Switch Concerns

The Nintendo Switch has reportedly become the fastest-selling console in the US and has apparently outperformed the Nintendo Wii based on the first two days of sales. However, despite its continued success, the new console has also received its fair share of negative feedback from consumers. Nintendo of America's COO Reggie Fils-Aime seems to have been asked some questions about their newest game system and its supposed flaws.

According to The Washington Post, the company executive was asked about how the Nintendo 3DS compares with the Switch. Reggie explained that the key difference is that the 3DS offers a glasses-free 3D experience with a game library of over 1000 titles. However, its processing power is unable to produce the same quality of graphics featured in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild". Moreover, He also points out that the two systems target different users.

Reggie Fils-Aime also pointed out that the Nintendo Switch has the capability to output the games on a big screen TV, unlike the 3DS and its smaller screens that are limited to portable gameplay. He pushes the concept of a user being able to continue his game from the living room and during his daily commute to work. Meanwhile, some reviewers asked about the number of games available during launch day.

Sources reported that the COO gave details about the company's approach about software support. He claims that a new platform's success is determined by the continuous availability of new games in a given span of time. It was apparently the company's decision to have prepared a launch schedule that featured a steady flow of games in the next coming months.

Some expected features are obviously missing on the Nintendo Switch such as a save file backup and web browsers, Gamenguide reports. However, Reggie Fils-Aime says that the console is designed to be a game system first, which it apparently handles excellently. He also hinted that these missing elements might be added in a future update.
