BioWare Introduces 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Multiplayer Companion App
BioWare's "Mass Effect Andromeda" has only a few days left before its official launch date next week. Gamers have reported that the developer has released a mobile companion app for the game multiplayer mode. The app is called "Mass Effect: Andromeda APEX HQ". The application helps players manage the game's multiplayer functions, and keeps them connected even when they are away from their consoles or PC.
The application is reportedly designed to allow players to check out updates and make some changes to the multiplayer mode while they are away from their systems. Weapon load-outs can be toggled and command strikes can also be set, reports Game Rant. Gamers will be able to check game progress, missions and news about the RPG. The developer has also shared information as well as tips to help players know their way around the app.
Before players can use the "Mass Effect: Andromeda APEX HQ" app, they must confirm that they are logged in using the EA Account registered on the game system. Once initialized, the application will start to update the player's gameplay information on their smartphones. BioWare claims gamers can remotely unlock items, characters, and other rewards through the program. Additionally, reports confirm that there are a lot of useful features bundled within.
Within the home screen, users can customize the appearance and layout of their app. An option to report errors and submit ideas for improvement is also available. Players will be able to set their character and organize their teams within the application's menu and also tweak their characters. Players can also assign Strike Teams to receive rewards if the mission is a success. Cosmetic changes are also handled in-app with a web store that handles optional micro-transactions.
An article from Gamenguide also notes Bioware confirmed that there will be free multiplayer DLC, which can be toggled from the "Mass Effect: Andromeda APEX HQ" app. Global leaderboards can also be viewed as well as an achievements hub, where users can track their progress towards the next unlockable goal.
