‘The Witcher 4’ Update: Developer Says It’s Not Forgotten Though Trilogy

"The Witcher 4" developers have already hinted at the development of the fourth installment in the series. Apparently, the CD Project head was interviewed just after releasing "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" and revealed that the 2015 game release will not be the end of the series. In fact, the game may work with Ciri at the Helm.

"The Witcher" Head Says It Is Unfair To End The Series

Fans who anticipate "The Witcher 4" in the series may note that the current installation combines two excellent expansions. Moreover, the CEO of CD Projekt Red Adam Kicinski was asked in an interview with Polish TV about the possibility of a fourth game. Kicinski noted that it would be unfair to "The Witcher" fans to forego "The Witcher 4."

"The Witcher 4" rumors have been circulating ever since Kicinski revealed that "The Witcher 3" would not be the end of the series. However, since it was 2015 and "The Witcher Hunt" was just released, Kicinski did not unveil any more details. Kicinski however, assured fans that CD Projekt Red has not forgotten about the series.

It is expected that Geralt of Rivia will no longer be the star of "The Witcher 4" and the protagonist of the upcoming game may be his adopted daughter Ciri. The CD Projekt Red senior writer revealed that the team will just let Geralt enjoy his retirement and then they would try something new, Gamewatcher reported.

A New Beginning For Geralt's Daughter

In other news, "The Witcher 4" fans should note that "The Witcher" was designed as a trilogy. Apparently, the developers noted how a trilogy many now have a fourth part, Segment Next reported. However, it is expected that the end of the trilogy would just mean the end of its most prominent character, Geralt.

"The Witcher 4" is expected to dig deeper into Ciri's story which has notable depth and various aspects that can be explored. In the meantime, CD Projekt Red is currently working on Cyberpunk 2077. It may not be anytime soon until they consider working on another game.
