Battlefield 2042 Update 6.2.0 Promises Weapon and Air Vehicle Improvements

Battlefield 2042 Update 6.2.0 Promises Weapon and Air Vehicle Improvements

A new update for Battlefield 2042 is expected to drop next week. Update 6.2.0 promises to implement weapon balancing adjustments, as well as air vehicle improvements to make the experience a lot better than it currently is.

Popular Shotgun Nerfed

One of the weapons that are adjusted in Update 6.2.0 is the MCS-880. This is a shotgun in Battlefield 2042 that is best for close-quarters combat. Players who have been using this weapon found great success in the "Redacted" map, especially since they could eliminate targets even as far as 20 meters with just one shot. Because the said weapon has been performing beyond expectations, the developers have decided to make a couple of notable changes.

For one, OHKs (One-Hit Kills) are no longer possible over 25 meters when using the MCS-880. Furthermore, the range of the #4 Buckshot ammo is reduced so that it only becomes effective at close range as originally intended.

Nerfs are always implemented to balance things out, but some fans have expressed their disappointment over the changes to the MCS-880. According to Redditor @raishak, the shotgun was only ever effective in Redacted and is not viable in other maps in the game.

Another Redditor is hoping that the nerfs are not too extreme. They added that while they enjoy using the MCS-880, this shotgun needs a nerf because of how powerful it is.

Crosshair for Air Vehicles

The Battlefield 2042 community has been pointing out numerous issues concerning air vehicles in the game for quite some time now. Redditor @Asuupan shared their thoughts about the matter, stating that jets and attack helicopters have been suffering from poor rocket accuracy and input delay that affect aiming.

Well, the developers may have heard the community sentiment about this loud and clear it seems. That's because they are going to make improvements that aim to fix some of the issues that have plagued air vehicles since the game's release.

One of the changes that players can expect in Update 6.2.0 is that air vehicles will have a more accurate crosshair. Besides that, aim indicators will be added to help gunners and pilots orient themselves correctly whenever they're engaging ground targets.

Although it is nice that the developers are hard at work to improve the game, it is wild that there are still unfinished systems even two years after launch.
