Thanos Will Play a Big Part in Guardians of the Galaxy, and Probably Avengers 3

Still Wondering About Avengers 2? Well Stop, and Start Speculating About Thanos in Avengers 3!

You all remember Thanos, the big purple Marvel villain who made his famous appearance in The Avengers' end-credit sequence?

Well, it's now been confirmed that Thanos will be making quite the splash in this summer's Guardians of the Galaxy (which I am absolutely geeked for, by the way).

Entertainment Weekly interviewed Guardians director James Gunn (reported via MTV), who confirmed that Guardians will definitely have some connections to Avengers 3 (Avengers 2 isn't even out yet!) and Thanos will be making more than a cameo in his film.

"We're definitely connected to Avengers 3," Gunn told EW.

Gunn also described Thanos as the "head of the snake" in Guardians, so it would make sense if whatever happens in Guardians eventually sets up the Infinity Gauntlet storyline for Avengers 3

It's a bit much to already be speculating on the third Avengers film when it's presumably not coming out until at the earliest 2017 (Marvel has yet to announce a date), but it's still fun. In the interim, Guardians looks pretty awesome and Avengers 2: Age of Ultron will surely be fantastic once again next summer.
