Pocketpair's massively popular survival and crafting game Palworld is struggling with cheaters as of late, so much so that the company admitted that it's an "uphill battle."

Actions Taken

When a game is popular, people can expect that there will be cheaters running amok, ruining the experience for everyone. The same thing can be said for those who enjoy Palworld.

For those who do not know, Palworld has cemented itself as one of the most popular games in 2024. In fact, one could argue that it will receive some major awards at some point this year due to its massive popularity and unique mechanics.

Having said that, developer Pocketpair is aware of the massive cheating problem that the Palworld community is facing. Hence, the company vows to take action against these bad actors by implementing an external anti-cheat solution.

As to what this external anti-cheat software is, the company did not disclose any information about it, likely as a means to prevent the cheat makers from circumventing the security checks.

In addition to implementing an anti-cheat solution, the company said that the Palworld development team will not stop until it has rid the game of any cheaters who are hell-bent on ruining the fun for everyone.

"Although the development team is dealing with each issue on a daily basis and taking measures, there are many cases where we are not able to keep up, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," Pocketpair said.

What is Happening?

So, how do cheaters affect the game? Well, they actually do a lot of harm to the community. According to Redditor bruno_hoecker, these bad actors have the power to delete characters, inventories, and Pals of other players.

Another Redditor chimed in that some cheaters would fill the inventories of legitimate players with rocks, force others to respawn below the floor which renders them unable to move, and forcibly change the names of characters without their consent.

As of right now, a sizable portion of the player base is playing in privately hosted servers so that they will not run into them.

Although we can all agree that cheaters are people who have nefarious intent, they will always try to ruin popular games like Palworld. Unless Pocketpair takes more stringent measures, these bad actors will continue to hamper the enjoyment of legitimate players.

What do you think? What should developer Pocketpair do in order to successfully combat these cheaters? Also, have you experienced running into one while playing Palworld? Let us know in the comments!
