V Rising Will Feature Legacy of Castlevania Crossover as Part of Version 1.0 Update

V Rising, Legacy of Castlevania Crossover Brings Simon Belmont as a New Boss

V Rising, developer Stunlock Studios' action role-playing survival game, will feature a Legacy of Castlevania crossover in collaboration with Konami that will be a part of the game's version 1.0 update.

The Legacy of Castlevania crossover will have famed vampire hunter Simon Belmont infiltrating V Rising in order to challenge all of the Vampire kind. He wields his legendary Vampire Killer whip and is equipped with an arsenal of holy weaponry. He makes sure that no night stalker is safe from his crusade through Vardoran.

In order for players to unlock the secrets of the Vampire Killer, they have to defeat Belmont, which will also offer them new combat abilities. While the new crossover will feature a lot of free content, players who want to get something more can purchase the Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack cosmetic DLC.

This would let players construct their own castles that are inspired by Castlevania's classic gothic aesthetic. It lets them decorate their opulent lair and enjoy character customization options that were inspired by classic Castlevania characters. Players will also be able to spread terror with their spooky skeletal mount, according to Blood Disgusting.

The CEO of Stunlock Studios, Rickard Frisegard, said that they were all big fans of Castlevania, noting that bringing it together with V Rising was like a dream come true. He expressed his gratitude to their friends at Konami for giving them the chance to bring the crossover to players and fans.

On top of V Rising's Steam release, the game will also be launching for the PlayStation 5 later this year and the Legacy of Castlevania DLC will also be available on the console.

The game initially launched into early access in 2022 and has seen regular updates leading up to its version 1.0 patch. The developers are trying to revamp core systems to make for more satisfying late-game progression and better armor options, said Rock Paper Shotgun.

Adding a New Boss and Content

It didn't take long for the ARPG to establish itself as a major hit among players and it was revealed that it sold more than 3.9 million copies as of February 2024. The game's player reception has also been stellar and is shown in the title's "Very Positive" review summary on Steam.

V Rising was able to ride its launch momentum and bring its success to a second year as it found itself on the list of Steam's most-played games in 2023. Stunlock Studios also shared an overview of what fans can expect from the 1.0 update.

This includes a new V Rising location in the form of The Ruins of Mortium, which is described as an endgame area that is filled with deadly perils that players will have to survive. There will also be a final chapter that promises a conclusion to the RPG's story as well as some dynamic endgame events, new V Blood bosses, and a new type of enemy.

One of the questions that remains unanswered for the PS5 port of the game is regarding its price. It is currently on sale for $19.99 on Steam but it is not uncommon for titles to raise prices after leaving early access, according to GameRant.
