Community Disappointment Over Team GO Rocket Takeover

The ongoing Team GO Rocket Takeover event within the World of Wonders season has garnered a mixed response from the Pokémon GO community. While anticipation ran high for the opportunity to encounter Shadow Mewtwo, disappointment ensued when it was revealed that these raids were restricted to local participation only. This restriction effectively rendered the event inaccessible to players in less populated areas, sparking frustration among fans.

For fortunate players who managed to capture Shadow Mewtwo, a crucial insight emerged courtesy of Reddit user MyHubbyInsisted. It was revealed that Shadow Mewtwo's move set includes Frustration, a move that significantly dampens its combat effectiveness. To maximize Shadow Mewtwo's potential, players must prioritize removing Frustration to unlock access to a plethora of more powerful Charged moves.

Unlocking Shadow Mewtwo's True Potential

The disparity in damage output between Frustration and other available Charged moves is stark. While Frustration deals a mere 5 damage per second, moves like Psystrike boast a staggering 39.13 DPS, underscoring the necessity of removing Frustration from Shadow Mewtwo's arsenal.

Removing Frustration requires the use of a Charged TM, a process that can only be undertaken during a Team GO Rocket Takeover event. Missing this window means players must wait until the next occurrence of the event to make the adjustment. However, once Frustration is replaced, players regain the flexibility to alter Shadow Mewtwo's move set at any time.

It's worth noting that even Elite Charged TMs are unable to remove Frustration, emphasizing the importance of seizing the opportunity during the Team GO Rocket Takeover event. The alternative method of purifying the Pokémon replaces Frustration with Return, but given the combat advantages conferred by Shadow Pokémon, maintaining Shadow Mewtwo in its unpurified state is generally considered the superior strategy.
