In announcing the Where Winds Meet beta in a press release, the team behind the title notes that some styles under the umbrella, such as Tai Chi, work by using techniques to redirect an opponent's force to defeat them in a less violent way.

This is not the only move that players will be able to make use of in the game as they will have the chance to learn skills that give them options in different environments and situations. Another example is that players will be able to use the force of a waterfall to break through a wall, according to MMORPG.

Other things that players might be able to do are gather leaves from the ground to unleash power and find other opportunities to use opponents' force against them. They can also take advantage of enemies by finding a way to use their weapons against them.

One example is if an enemy is overshooting or moving forcefully in one direction, the player can use that opening to strike back. Learning different weapons is crucial for players in their path to mastering Chinese martial arts. The game features a variety of weapon types, such as longswords, broadswords, spears, bows, and fans.

Where Winds Meet, as an adventure RPG, will let players explore and use their skills to traverse its beautiful world. Other than combat, there will be other stuff to do, such as minigames, playing Chinese chess, learning, playing traditional musical instruments, and many more.

The announcement of the first North American beta also included a trailer that showcased gameplay footage of Where Winds Meet. The game's story puts players in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era of ancient China, said PCGamer.

There are different factions that offer access to unique martial skills that players can choose from or they can decide to take the world on by themselves, honing their abilities on their own. While mostly offering a single-player experience, Where Winds Meet is said to provide multiplayer for "specific experiences" like PvP and world events.

However, the game's narrative and exploration is primarily a solo-focused endeavor and promises "realistic physical conditions, real consequences, and the interconnectedness of nature and society." The game's narrative will also be heavily influenced by the player's choices throughout the run.

Players are now able to sign up for the upcoming beta that is scheduled to start on Apr. 19, 2024, and will run until Apr. 22, 2024. The producer for Everstone Studio, Beralt Lyu, said that recruitment is currently ongoing and noted that player feedback will be crucial to help them optimize and refine Where Winds Meet, according to Eurogamer.
