A Hobbit-inspired cozy game is set to reveal new details alongside the latest trailer for Tales of the Shire, which is set in the Lord of the Rings universe.

The game was first announced in September of last year and is an upcoming game that twists the Lord of the Rings' world of Middle-Earth into a cozy game setting. The universe is typically shown as on the brink of destruction by the powers of evil.

However, Tales of the Shire turns this completely upside down by showcasing the franchise's more peaceful and serene locations. One of these is where the game is set and is probably known to most if not all fans, the hometown of the Hobbits, The Shire.

There is currently not much that fans of the franchise know about the upcoming game as the only official description for Tales of the Shire promises a "cosy Hobbit life" It is also said to be a heartwarming take on the Lord of the Rings universe, according to GameRant.

The title's developers, Private Division and Weta Workshop, have not yet revealed anything about the gameplay for Tales of the Shire. However, all of this is about to change as the game is set to release its first full trailer on Apr. 22, 2024.

The footage is expected to showcase what makes Tales of the Shire unique and what its gameplay looks like. Many fans are also eager to know more information regarding the upcoming game.

While no one really knows for sure yet what the soon-to-be-released trailer will feature, it seems more likely than not that it will offer a general overview of what Tales of the Shire is about. The game is also set for a 2024 release and it is possible that a release date could be included in the latest information dump.

A Cosy Hobbit Life

So far, there has also been no information regarding what platforms Tales of the Shire will be released on but it seems likely that it will also be available on the Nintendo Switch. This is because Private Division is known for bringing titles such as Hades and Olli Olli World to the handheld console, said Pocket Tactics.

While Tales of the Shire already has a page on Steam, there is not much information there either ahead of the first full trailer. Many fans are wondering what the game could give, such as farming, cooking, and adventuring.

There have been two smaller teases available on the Tales of the Shire X account that showed off some key artwork with a few Hobbits gathered around a riverbank, fishing, and eating. Also, there is a duck that could be seen wearing a helmet, which could or could not mean anything at all.

It is still too early to assume whether iconic characters will be included in the game, such as Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin. Some fans have been asking for a setting in the Fourth Age where these characters all have their own jobs and lives, according to The Gamer.
