'Octodad: Dadliest Catch' PS4 Release Date Announced for Next Week [VIDEO]

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is Coming to PS4, and Soon!

Octodad: Dadliest Catch has one of the greatest premises of any game in recent memory. In it, you play an octopus who is trying to pass himself off as human, with all the challenges that would entail. He's not exactly the most coordinated guy and you'll have to make sure he doesn't start doing things that makes it obvious that he's got tentacles, not limbs. PC gamers have been enjoying it for months but soon PS4 gamers will know just how amazing it is- a surprise announcement today revealed the release date of April 22 for this enhanced version!

Get ready to help Octodad go to work, take his family on trips to the aquarium, and avoid a sushi chef, all while wearing human clothes and trying to blend in as best as possible. Not even his wife knows the truth about him. Octodad: Dadliest Catch was a student project that got tons of acclaim, and the developers polished it up and released it for PC in January to great acclaim. Since it's been out for a while they've had time to go back and improve the game based on feedback from players and critics, most noticably in tweaking how the last part of the game worked- giving you new disguises and challenges to perofrm, like deck swabbing and jig dancing.

This PS4 version will support new controller configurations for the PlayStation Move, including a single Move, double PlayStation Moves, and the PlayStation Move plus Nav controller! The game willl also offer a local co-op mode that lets you each control one of Octodad's limbs.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch will be available as part of next Tuesday's PlayStation store update for $14.99, although PS Plus users will get 20% off ($11.99) for the first week. Check out the launch announcement below!
