'Titanfall's' Sales: EA Game Showing Almost A Million Copies Sold In North America In First Month Alone? [VIDEO]

We Can Now Put a Number On How Popular Titanfall Is, At Least From March

EA's Xbox and PC exclusive Titanfall has been a popular game so far, but now we can put a number on just how popular.

During an earnings call yesterday, EA announced that Titanfall sold 925,000 units in the first quarter, which only included the month of March. IGN has the report:

"This is 'great,' according to EA COO Peter Moore, as Titanfall on Xbox One and PC spent just three weeks on the fiscal quarter's calendar. It was Xbox One's best-selling game in March. This did not include the Xbox 360 release. This sales data, via NPD, includes physical copies sold in North America only."

Interesting that those numbers only include physical copies sold. Microsoft likely sold a bunch of Xbox Ones with the Titanfall Xbox One bundle, which included a digital download code for the game.

Regardless, for a new IP, a million units sold in about three weeks is pretty impressive. Once June comes and another update comes out from EA, I'd be curious to see how many copies were sold for Xbox 360 and One outside of that first month. If Microsoft has an earnings call sometime soon then we may get some insight into how many Titanfall Xbox One bundles were sold as well.
