Angry Birds News: 'Pokémon' Meets Rovio's Flying Fowls in 'Angry Birds Pokémon,' Featuring the Mobile Game's Mechanics With Pocket Monster Powers [VIDEO]

Angry Birds Pokémon Fan-Made Mash Up is the Stuff Dreams are Made Of, and Simultaneously the Best and Worst Tease Ever

Leave it to the fans to tease and tantalize us with the hopelessly impossible...in this case, Angry Birds gameplay with a wide array of Pokémon and their respective abilities...

If you asked a cross-section of gamers to answer on a scale of 1 to 10, how happy they would be if they were able to launch a variety of Pokémon using Angry Bird's slingshot, I'm willing to bet the average answer would be "take my money."

Angry Birds - Now With Portals

With movie tie-ins and team-ups with Star Wars and "Rio," what's to stop Rovio from expanding its Angry Birds franchise even further? When it comes to other properties, the unfortunate answer is, "a lot," and no matter how many fans would love to slingshot all manner of video game creatures into whatever they like, the odds of it actually happening are against them. It's that sharp pinch of reality that makes the following video ever so bittersweet...

That video is the work of Red Panda Media Group's Adrian Jensen, a man who now has both an endless pool of my love, and all the hatred of a thousand dying suns for brilliantly executing what could be the single greatest thing that will never, ever happen to Angry Birds.

If the work is reflective of the company, I confess that I'd be all about hiring such a company, based purely on the talent in this video alone. The only problem is that I'd be forced to immediately fire them for having come up with a concept so delightful, so good, that there's no way it could ever exist. To tease just a project that will never happen is the only sure sign that God is dead and we're alone.

Curse you Adrian Jensen, curse you ever so much...
