'Battlefield 4' DLC News: Dragon's Teeth's New Ballistic Shield Revealed, Footage To Debut This Week [SCREEN, VIDEO]

First Image for Battlefield 4's Dragon's Teeth DLC Shows Ballistic Shield in Action

EA is teasing the next piece of DLC for Battlefield 4, Dragon's Teeth, and has provided gamers with the first official image, and a look at a new gadget in action.

Pre-Orders Show PlayStation 4 Players Favor Battlefield 4 While Xbox One Gamers Want Call of Duty: Ghosts

The image, seen above, tweeted by Dan Sheridan, EA's UK Marketing Manager. The tweet also promised the first video peek at the DLC was also on the way, set to debut later this week.

The image shows off one of the new gadgets coming to the game courtesy of the DLC, the Ballistic Shield, which the soldier uses to provide his buddy cover. The Shield is said to be able to absorb all forms of gunfire, but don't expect it to hold up to well against explosions. It's best left used as a support item, as the picture shows, as holding the shield requires both hands, meaning players won't be able to fire any weapons. But they'll be able to bash enemies as a last resort.

Joining the shield is the other new gadget, the RAWR, or, "Remote Assisted Weaponized Robot." Infinitely cooler than a simple shield, this little A.I. assassin comes equipped with a light machine gun and four grenade launchers.

There was a massive leak on Dragon's Teeth earlier this week, allegedly revealing the DLC's map names, assignments, dog tags, and a new game mode, but DICE nor EA has either confirmed or denied this information as accurate. Here's a quick recap:

New Mode
Called "Chainlink," the new mode is rumored to be a variation of Conquest, wherein players must link adjacent capture points, causing the opponents' tickets to bleed quicker.

Features
Five Achievements/Trophies
Eleven Assignments

Maps
Lumphini Garden
Pearl Market
Propaganda
Sunken Dragon

Weapons
DEagle 44
Unica 6
CS5

Bulldog

Once Dragon's Teeth drops, Battlefield 4 players have one more piece of DLC to look forward to with Final Stand. Release information hasn't been given for either DLC yet, but expect it to be free to Season Pass holders, and cost the usual $15 for everyone else.

Can't wait for the first look at Dragon's Teeth? No better way to kill time than go shark hunting. After a lot of cryptic messages and bizarre allusions, players finally figured out how to make the prehistoric megalodon shark appear. Head to the Nansha Islands map in the Naval Strike DLC, follow the instructions, and see if you can duplicate the results. If you're short on players, watch the video below for a glimpse at the enormous creature in action, and thank Peter Benchley for providing DICE with just such a premise.
