'Spy Party' Game News: First Trailer Released For Indie Title Based On Subtle Deception, Early Access Beta Available [VIDEO]

Spy Party Trailer Released, An Indie Title About Deceiving Your Opponent

It seems like indie title Spy Party has been around forever, but now has its first trailer and a new website to go along with it. The interesting game concept caught the attention of gamers and the press more than three years ago, when it first came onto the scene.

The idea behind Spy Party is the following: a player designated as the sniper must take out the player named the spy, who must attempt to blend in during a house party while completing a list of objectives.

The spy must act convincingly to not stand out from the NPC crowd while it goes about its mission picking up or switching items, while the sniper watches from outdoors and eventually takes its shot. If the sniper is wrong or the spy completes the mission before being shot, it's game over for the spy. If the sniper correctly identifies the spy and hits its target, well, you can figure it out.

Many Great Indie Titles Coming To PS4

The trailer shows off the simple beta art, but gives a glimpse of what the game will look like when the new high-quality graphics are used. Spy Party is currently in playable early-access beta, so you can buy it now for $15 and get in on the development build until the full game is released.

The trailer is below, and gives good visual and audio explanations of the concept if you're having trouble grasping what exactly unfolds in Spy Party. It's developed by a small team lead by designer and programmer Chris Hecker, with John Cimino doing the final art and Keith Millot running the community side of the project.
