'Madden 15' Cover News: Last Day To Vote! Richard Sherman VS Cam Newton [VIDEO]

Madden 15's Cover Vote Closes Today, Cam Newton Against Richard Sherman

It all comes down to this. From 16 players when the vote for Madden NFL 15's cover began in May, we're down to the final two: Seattle Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman, and Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton. And if you haven't cast your vote yet, today's your last day to do so.

Colin Kaepernick Stars In The First Pic For Madden NFL 15

Last year's vote for Madden NFL 25 was done tournament style, with 32 brackets of all-time NFL greats on one side, and 32 modern NFL superstars on the other. After a month long tournament saw over 40 million votes cast, Barry Sanders emerged as the winner.

This year's cover vote was done in the same tournament style fashion, but from a considerably smaller pool of talent. Besides Newton and Sherman, there weres:

Here's Some Candidates We Think Should Grace the Cover of Madden 15

- Chicago Bears Wide Receiver Alshon Jeffery
- New Orleans Saints Tight End Jimmy Graham
- Green Bay Packers Running Back Eddie Lacy
- Denver Broncos Wide Receiver Demaryius Thomas
- Carolina Panthers Middle Linebacker Luke Kuechly
- San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick
- Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Nick Foles
- Pittsburgh Steelers Wide Receiver and Punt Returner Antonio Brown
- Kansas City Chiefs Running Back Jamaal Charles
- Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver A.J. Green
- Philadelphia Eagles Running Back LeSean McCoy
- Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver T.Y. Hilton
- Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck
- Washington Redskins Running Back Alfred Morris.

Early Twitter buzz was fairly accurate in predicting the final competitors. Both Newton and Sherman were the early favorites along with Nick Foles, Alfred Morris, and Colin Kaepernick. But while the former three were left behind, Sherman and Newton fought it out 'til the bitter end.

Newton beat out Steeler Antonio Brown, KC Chief Jamaal Charles, and Colt QB Andrew Luck to get to the top spot, while Sherman's been victorious against Bears' receiver Alshon Jeffery, Saints Tight End Jimmy Graham, and Colin Kaepernick.

Whoever wins now, that's up to you.

There's only hours left to vote, so if you haven't done so, head over to ESPN to make your pick. Madden NFL 15 hits the field on August 26 in North America, and August 29 in Europe. It will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3.
