‘Destiny’ Companion App Launches Today Together With Open Beta And Many In-Game Rockets

Keep Tabs On Your Destiny Main During Lunch Break With This New Companion App

Bungie has launched a mobile companion app to coincide with the Destiny beta launching today, aptly titled the Destiny Companion.

Destiny's PS4 Exclusive Timed Content Will Arrive On Xbox... A Year Later

This free update of the Bungie mobile app (available here) will allow you to inspect your Guardian, manage your inventory, keep tabs on in-game stats, and do all those other wonderful things AAA game mobile companion apps allow you to do nowadays.

Destiny's public beta will run from today till July 27, so you've got a good ten days ahead of you just to see how good the inventory managing system is on this thing. Leave the beta testing of the actual game to the plebes, the mainstream. Real hardcore gamers are worried about companion apps!

One Planet In Destiny Will Be As Big As The Entire Halo: Reach Map

In fact, Hardcore Destiny Companion beta testers will be able to communicate via private messaging, join and create groups, and post on forums along with their friends from the Bungie network, or track them down via the Playstation Network or Xbox LIVE. You can also mercilessly mock your friends by analyzing their stats and comparing your Grimoire scores. Or you could perhaps use them to feed your crippling self-doubt and hide yourself in a broom closet with nothing but your iPhone and your Destiny Companion, needing but not wanting to constantly check on how much better everyone is than you.

Heh, Grimoires. Who knew the Quarians had to resort to dark magickes to reclaim their home planet. And that it was Earth all along! Just goes to show, you should never make assumptions about anyone in full-body armor.
