Xbox One Launches GoPro Channel, Showcases Butts, Pelicans

Major Nelson has just announced the launch of the Xbox One GoPro Channel, allowing users the chance to view and upload their own epic adventure videos.

Yo! App Valued Between $6 and $10m

The launch comes on the heels of the Xbox 360 GoPro app, which was already a smash hit: to date, the app has been downloaded nearly half a million times, with US users checking out half an hour of content per session (as opposed to an average of 18 minutes per login for worldwide users). That's actually pretty impressive. Whenever I watch YouTube, for instance, I don't browse for half an hour on end, unless it's a long single segment.

Xbox GoPro users will be able to view epic adventure, amazing sports, or even just plain derpy videos made with the revolutionary little cameras. Not just that, but they'll be able to share, upload, and even buy GoPro equipment right through the app itself. GoPro is really putting their eggs in the social content basket, as their equipment is pretty much ideal for making on-the-spot videos to be shared over the interwebs. Whether it be butts or pelicans or Dwarves riding down the great river Anduin in barrels (seriously, go back to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and the GoPro shots will stick out like sore thumbs), the GoPro's got you covered for quick and easy recording of your real-life achievements.
