SDCC 2014: The Stellar Looking New Halo Nightfall Trailer Debuts To Roaring Crowds [VIDEO]

The first Halo: Nightfall teaser was shown off at SDCC last night.

Behind The Scenes, No One Can Hear You Scream

Eager Comic Con fans got their first look at the upcoming mini-series at the 343 Industries panel, hosted by the Frank O'Connor.

In addition to giving us a brief but tantalizing look at the goings on in the Halo universe, an expanded cast and crew list has been released. The cast is comprised of relatively unknowns. The characters they all play, if my search of the exhaustive Halo wiki page is to be believed, are also newcomers.

Who Will Win SDCC: Marvel Or DC?

Halo: Nightfall is an all new series coming out this December as part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. The series is being produced by Ridley Scott's Scott Free company and is being directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, who knows a thing or two about action television, having directed several episodes of both Battlestar Galactica and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Halo: Nightfall is a prequel to the original Halo storyline and will showcase the rise of Jameson Locke, a peripheral character in the prior games but who will be playable in the upcoming Halo: Guardians. The Xbox One exclusive will be the fifth chapter in the Master Chief saga and will continue the story set down in Halo 4 as part of the Reclaimer trilogy.

It all looks very cool and the pedigree behind the live action mini-series is worth getting excited over. Nightfall is not the only live action show set in the Halo-verse coming, set to debut on Showtime and Xbox sometime in the future.

But in the meantime, check out the Halo: Nightfall trailer below.
