Jennifer Lawrence Goes To War In First Mockingjay Trailer

Fans of the Hunger Games trilogy have been waiting for this one, and director Francis Lawrence has certainly proven to be no shabby replacement for original helmer Gary Ross. Check out the badass future war trailer for Mockingjay right here!

This teaser is but a refresher on how many amazing actors and Liam Hemsworth are in this franchise. Starting out with a Phillip Seymour Hoffman (as Capitol Gamesmaster turned rebel general Plutarch Heavensbee) voice-over, seguing into a reply from grey-haired (!) Julianne Moore as rebel leader Alma Coin. Fans of The Big Lebowski will feel very old indeed.

The Capitol side of things doesn't disappoint either, with Donald Sutherland as President Snow ordering the swift execution of anyone associating with the Mockingjay symbol, followed by the awesome looking Mass Effect like Peacekeepers wreaking unholy vengeance on an oppressed populace.

This all culminates into a poor District 13 kid asking Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence, seriously one of the badass actors of our generation) if she will fight for them. What do you think her answer is?

Mockingjay Part I is based on the book of the same name, but will only be a partial adaptation of the source text. It is coming out November 21. Where do you think the split between movies will happen?

Theory (spoilers if you haven't read the books, so steer clear if you must): The second movie starts with Katniss' strike team's assault on the Capitol, making the second part essentially one long battle scene like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II.
