Deadpool Ain’t No Hollaback Girl In This Test Animation From BLUR Studio

Five years after the character's live action cinematic debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Deadpool is finally back in an animated short by legendary BLUR Studio meant to test the waters for a Deadpool solo outing.

In the video embedded below, you will see the Merc With A Mouth sing along to Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl, attack a convoy of mercs on a causeway, swear to the fullest extent a PG-13 will allow, and do various other things you might expect from a character who is best described as a violent Bugs Bunny.

Perhaps most hilariously he closes the short out with a "Hi, Tom!", no doubt referencing the previous head of Fox Studios (rights holders of the X-Men and thus Deadpool on film) and his somewhat-less-than-fan-pleasing attitude towards superheroes under his tenure.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to a solo outing by Deadpool, animated or live action, voiced or played by Ryan Reynolds? Will it be in continuity with his previous appearance in X-Men Origins Wolverine, or will they wholly ignore or somehow retcon that? If not, will he still have his Baraka style arm blades? What about the X-Men: Days of Future Past continuity wipe that happened this year?

Are comic book movie fans simply spoiled for choice with the rise of Marvel Studios since 2009? Let us know what you think after enjoying this lovely bit of silliness.
